FRANKFURT SCHOOL OF FINANCE & MANAGEMENT SUMMER ACADEMIES 2009

Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (former Bankakademie) welcomes you to the Micro Banking Summer Academy and the Housing Finance Summer Academy 2009.

Take Time Out. Increase Your Competencies: The Micro Banking Summer Academy 2009

For the past ten years, the Micro Banking Summer Academy of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has provided high-level training in management of microfinance institutions.

Micro Banking Summer Academy is interactive and hands-on. We mix experience with innovation. We work in small groups. Our Trainers are experienced practitioners and advisors with banking and microfinance background.

This year we offer three course alternatives:

Microfinance Principles (3-5 July 2009):
In this weekend seminar we will discuss the key success factors of dynamic microfinance institutions. You will also learn how to assess whether a microfinance institution is doing a good job.

MFI Management (5-10 July 2009)
In this one-week seminar we will look at three key issues relevant for smaller MFIs: financial management, operational management, and leading organizational change.

Commercial Micro Banking (12-17 July 2009)
In this one-week seminar we will dig deeper into commercialization issues: advanced risk management, product diversification, new technologies, diversification of funding sources, and strategic planning.

The Micro Banking Summer Academy Concept

•        Summer Academy combines the innovation of microfinance with the sophistication of banking knowledge.
•        Summer Academy has a sound balance between management issues and technical topics. Each module will comprise state-of-the-art technical  tools and guidelines for their applicability.
•        At Summer Academy, participants are not just the audience but the core element of a successful event. Accordingly, Summer Academy participants are given various platforms to actively bring in their knowledge and experience and to share them with the other participants.
•        Summer Academy will provide knowledge with a clear hands-on practical focus, with real-life examples from Frankfurt Schools experience as one of the leading microfinance training and consultant companies.

LAST APPLICATION DATE: 24th of April 2009

The training takes place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. We do not accept applications according to incoming application date, but will form a group of participants with complementary experiences. Each course is limited to 30 participants.
