Editor: Professor Laura Vigaṇ - University of Bergamo
The Journal Savings and Development was established by Finafrica (now Giordano Dell'Amore Foundation) in the Year 1977. Since issue 3/2007, the Journal passed on to the University of Bergamo. The Journal has been publishing articles related to Finance and Development, Microfinance, Banking and Insurance, Savings mobilization, Financial markets, with special emphasis on Developing Countries and Rural Finance.
While not losing continuity with the past, innovation took place in 2008 through the establishment of standard procedures for blind review by referees. The new Editor also wants to widen the range of topics the journal covers, although still related to the main theme: "Finance and Development"; in particular, more space will be reserved to contributions dealing with management issues of financial intermediaries.
This call aims to stimulate the submission of articles on the subject of Rural Finance. Possible papers topics include, but are not limited to:
- analysis of rural financial networks - performance evaluation of rural financial intermediaries and services - governance and management of rural financial institutions - evaluation of risks in rural financial markets - pricing of financial services - index-based insurance products - behavioural and institutional factors affecting savings mobilization - role of remittances in the financial system - remittances and financial services - remittances and the financing of local development projects - outreach and financial sustainability of rural microfinance - microfinance and poverty reduction in rural areas
Papers should be submitted to the following e-mail address: savings.development@unibg.it . Please indicate "Call for Papers - Rural Finance" in the object of the e-mail.
